|Thoughts From Diana Farris|
What a blessing it is. But what does it mean to be a woman? According to Webster; a woman is a female human being. The term woman is usually reserved for an adult, with the term girl for a child or adolescent. But what does that really say about us?
We are much more than that.
At times womanhood becomes unbearable. We are emotional beings, and though it is a beautiful thing to be in touch with one’s emotions, it is overwhelming at times. The range of crazy emotions when mother nature comes to visit. I don’t know about you, but my stomach turns into a bottomless pit. None of you snacks are safe *Cardi B voice. Any small negative thing turns me to Niagra Falls.
And how do you keep your wits about you when the world tells you how to be a woman? Social media can be a huge distorted mirror. Causing you to see nothing but flaws when you stare at your image. Impossible to see your true form when all you see are reasons why you’re not good enough. Your flaws are often screamed out while your perfections are whispered. Accomplishments tainted by hate and judgment.
Such beauty we have. Inside and out. We’re tall, short, skinny, curvy and more to love. Kind, nurturing, loving. We are creators of life. Magical and majestic. We raise children sometimes alone and build businesses from the ground up. Powerful and unyielding. Leaders of marches, barrier breakers. No matter what life brings us we never faulted. Mighty warriors we are.
When the world seems too heavy, remember even a king is weak without his queen.
